SEBON to Release Capital Market Roadmap Next Week, Urges Investors to Rely on Research
2026-07-10
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has announced that it has taken serious note of the current problems in the stock market and the grievances raised by investors. To address these issues and protect investor interests, SEBON is working diligently to publish a detailed, time bound capital market development roadmap by next week. The regulator intends to implement this action plan immediately to improve the market environment.
To create a healthier, safer, and more efficient trading environment, SEBON has directed licensed stock market businesses and related institutions to complete their assigned duties within the specified timelines. This includes the effective implementation of margin trading. Additionally, SEBON has started reviewing existing legal structures including the Securities Act, securities registration and issuance regulations, and corporate governance guidelines for listed companies to keep them up to date and well managed.
Prioritizing investor protection, SEBON has urged the public not to be influenced by market rumors, misleading talk, or false information. The regulator strongly advises investors to make cautious, well informed investment decisions based on their own personal study, analysis, and individual risk bearing capacity.
